Jo Solo Sax ref: 0283.5

Jo Solo Sax

Jo is a talented saxophonist, born in Edinburgh but now living in London. She studied at Guildhall School of Music (London) and Berklee School of Music (Boston, USA). She plays with a jazz quartet and duo or, if space, budget or manouverability are a consideration, as a solo saxophonist with backing tracks!

Her PA is battery powered, meaning that she does not need to set up near to power sockets for her solo act.

Jo's solo repertoire covers disco classics such as "I will survive" and "Uptown Girl", jive tunes like "Rock around the clock" and "I'm the king of the jungle" and smooth 'crooners' like "Fly me to the moon" and "New York, New York". Perfect background music for your drinks reception or during dinner!

Her influences include Illinois Jacquet, Sonny Rollins, Dexter Gorden, Cannonball Adderley and Bill Evans and her big, mellow tone is often compared to Stan Getz and Zoot Simms.

Testimonials

Jazz"infectious enthusiasm, excellent technique and lovely warm tone..."
Client (Review of jazz quartet) "Thank you and the band so much for the fantastic playing on Sunday. So many people have said how great you all were and it really added some fizz to the somewhat underwhelming summer weather!"
