The Midsummer Quartet @ the Royal Show 2007

The year of the summer floods, The Midsummer Flute & String Quartet appeared at the Royal Show with wellies at the ready. In the event, the first day was so wet that they played in the food and flower pavilion entrance, before the whole show was abandoned on health and safety grounds as cars and lorries sank into the mud of the car parks.

Never daunted, the Quartet created a summer atmosphere to cheer the stolid visitors and exhibitors to the show. All clouds have a silver lining, and for the quartet it was the acoustics of the entrance hall. Not quite Symphony Hall standards, but pretty good.
