The Americana Duo play songs from the great American back catalogue inspired by folk, country, old time and contemporary music from the 1930s onwards. The duo play many songs by the great Neil Young and the great Johnny Cash, plus plenty of other material too - Jimmie Rogers, Johnny Cash, The Band, Simon & Garfunkel, The Eagles, Bruce Springsteen, Tammy Wynette, The Mavericks, Little Feat, Randy Scruggs, Hank Williams, Creedence Clearwater Revival, Elvis & more - and sometimes even the odd original song might sneak its way in there. They can also do a full Cash/Young tribute set if required.
The Americana Duo can trace their roots back a long way. Fans of roots music since their youth, the pair met at a music session at the legendary Baldock & Letchworth Blues, Folk & Roots Club. Striking up a friendship based on mutual admiration and shared tastes, it was not long before they were playing together and winning fans as they performed impressive ‘soundalike’ performances of material made famous by their musical heroes, Neil Young and Johnny Cash. The pair have played extensively solo and in other musical collaborations, in venues from a 3000 seat auditorium in Dorset, to the 80 seat Mill Theatre in Thurso, and from large festivals to tiny pubs.
