Hexham is on the south bank of the River Tyne, near where the South Tyne and North Tyne rivers converge. The place that they meet is caller WArden Rock.
Hexham Abbey is now the parish church of Hexham, but was originally built in 674AD and built in it's current form in the 12th century. It is a Grade I listed building and is dedicated to St Andrew.
