Based on an English Barn Dance Band, they can also include American, Scottish and Irish if desired. This Barn Dance Band is a regular visitor to Mid Wales. Hear all the traditional barn dance tunes, dance all the dances, with the SR Band, including accordion, fiddle, bass and Sheila herself, the caller (+ guitar, percussion) ,– and what a lovely Geordie accent she has too! The band's emphasis is on having fun and they are happy to play for any event, from village socials, birthdays, anniversaries, weddings etc.

Hullabaloo is an English ceilidh band providing music for parties, weddings and community events in which everyone can be involved and have fun. They use a wide repertoire of English music and dances and, for variety, some jigs, reels and hornpipes from elsewhere too. Mid Wales is within this Barn Dance Band’s local performance area. Usually in the course of an evening event they’ll lead a variety of different dances, which are all easy to learn, interspersed with some music to listen to – but they can also provide music for events where there’s no dancing.

Originally,this ceilidh band (or Twmpath band) "happened" together in January 1993 when a string of old acquaintances had each received an invitation to the same wedding party. When this fact was realised, the idea was mooted to hold a few practices and stage a short ceilidh by way of a wedding present. The dance was a huge success, the scratch musicians were told that their sound worked a treat - and so a new band was born ! So the story goes.
