Why is the PayPal page headed "make a donation"PayPal is probably both the world's biggest and lowest cost processor of on-line payments. To keep their operations simple and effective, they have a number of standard secure payment 'templates'. The template that allows you to enter the amount of money you are going to pay has the standard heading "make a donation". This is because most situations where the payee decides on the amount of money they are going to pay is where they are making a donation. (In most cases where a person pays for a product over the internet, they are purchasing an item that is displayed on a shopping cart at a defined price.) In our case, we price our string quartets, ceilidh bands or whatever live music ensemble we are offering, individually, to you, at the lowest possible cost for the amount of time you want the musicians for, including travel etc. This is the price given on the Confirmation and Invoice. Every case is different. So when you enter a payment into the PayPal payment page, you can be assured that you are making a payment in connection with the booking of a music group and not a 'donation'. |
