Welcome to this year’s Autumn / Winter Programme which we hope you will find full of exciting and interesting demonstrations and workshops covering a wide range of painting styles and media.
The programme includes a list of titles for our monthly Painting Challenge. This year we have included a title for October so we hope as many of you as possible will come along with an entry to start the season with a bang. The judging will be arranged slightly differently this year as all the members present will be offered the opportunity to vote for their favourite. As usual the competition will culminate with a grand exhibition of the finalists and presentation of prizes at the March AGM.
The monthly painting meetings were a great success last year and will start again in October at the Trinity Church Hall. The intention is for the meetings to continue throughout the year and this has necessitated moving to a new time which is the afternoon of the third Wednesday of the month. Come anytime from1.00pm. The cost of each session is £2.50 with refreshments.
The Committee would like to offer the challenge to all members to Design a Logo for use as a header on all the Society’s stationery. The design needs to be bold, distinctive and in black and white. If you feel motivated ‘to have a go’ could you please submit the artwork at the November Meeting so that the winning design can be chosen at the December meeting.
The monthly demonstrations will be held as usual at the Trinity Church Hall. They will commence at 9.45am with society notices followed by the demonstration at 10.00am. The coffee break will be at around 11.00am and the meeting will end at 12.00pm approx. The cost remains at £3.00 for members & £4.00 for non-members.
