Goudhurst is a beautiful village on a hill, with old inns, a duck pond and a I3th to 15th-century church which has marks on its walls said to have been made by archers sharpening their arrows before going to Agincourt with Sir John Bedgebury. The medieval Star and Eagle Inn, which was once joined to the church by a tunnel, was one base of the notorious Hawkhurst Gang of 18th-century smugglers. Spy-ways, the gang's sentry house with windows covering the main street in both directions, still stands. In 1796, the Goudhurst villagers routed the gang and hanged its leader, Richard Kingsmill, from a gibbet on Horsmonden Heath.

Royal Tunbridge Wells is one of the most elegant towns in the country. It was a rival to Bath as a spa in Regency days, when it was often visited by Beau Nash. The Pantiles, an iSth-century shopping walk shaded by lime trees, looks almost unchanged today. A walk across the common to the west leads to a sandstone outcrop among the trees called High Rocks, a picnic area since the I7th century. The 17th-century Church of King Charles the Martyr has an impressive wooden cupola and a white marble font. When Charles I was alive, the town was so popular that Queen Henrietta Maria, arriving with her court to take the spa waters, had to camp in tents on the common because so few houses had yet been built. There is a symphony orchestra, theatre and a county cricket ground in Nevill Park.

this is thatched barn, and rather charmingly the thatch is visible in the rafters from inside the building. Being built as an agricultural building, they didn't really worry about having some cross bracing is that come down to the floor, so some planning needs to be done to make sure that seating and tables are located in a way that allows the band to have a large clear dancefloor. These are not the sort of stress that one can dance around without knocking oneself out, so as always when booking a band for your event, give the logistics of the occasion a good deal of thought, you've paid a lot of money to hire them to make sure that you give them a venue where they can give their optimum performance. This is truly a lovely barn.

this is an ultramodern hall with lots of glass and light, with something quite unusual as the main hall being large enough to hold 250 guests, which have fallen present can produce an awful lot of sets for a ceilidh or barn dance, and concede hundred and 35 people tables. 250 guests are not a problem provided that the ceilidh band have a large enough PA system, so if you do have a large number of people always make this clear at the time of booking.
