The MD Ceilidh / Barn Dance Band ref: 4313

The MD Ceilidh Band is one of the most popular and experienced ceilidh / barn dance bands in the country and is mentioned on the BBC Radio Folk Awards website as one of the high profile UK dance bands. The band have over two decades of experience in providing dance music for all kinds of function and will ensure that your special day runs smoothly and that everyone has a good time.

Unlike many "electric" ceilidh bands, the sound of the MD Ceilidh Band is more than just an acoustic folk band grafted onto a pub-rock rhythm section. The music has been developed as true fusion of the best of traditional and modern dance rhythms.

The MD Band presents a five-piece line-up including a separate caller, electric fiddle, electric guitar, bass guitar and drums. This line-up is most suitable for larger audiences (100+), especially if there are younger people present.

They can also offer a smaller, more acoustic, version of the band which consists of the front line; caller, fiddle, guitar and more ethnic hand percussion. This version of the band is more suitable for smaller, more intimate occasions, or where you would prefer a more traditional sound.
