The BSO Barn Dance / Ceilidh Band ref: 6102
The BSO Band are a lively Ceilidh band with youthful enthusiasm, some cracking tunes and a foot-stomping sound - guaranteed to make any occasion go with a swing.
The band grew out of the University of Exeter's Ceilidh Band, and each musician brings a wealth of musical talent and experience. They play a variety of instruments, including flute, double bass, guitar and traditional Irish bodhran.
Never tried a ceilidh before? The BSO band are accompanied by an experienced caller, Jeremy, who has been calling for over 10 years (including at national events). Jeremy's speciality is complete beginners. He prefers to call from the floor – rather than the more traditional stage – as it is easier to guide dancers people through the steps. Jeremy's warm and charismatic style is known to encourage and enthuse dancers, and is guaranteed to have them galloping in the aisles.
The band also provide musical interludes, together with some Scottish and Irish songs that will have you weeping! They love playing for dancing, and they're sure you'll love it too…
This band can offer disco services after the dancing - for an modest extra cost.
