Hear & See More... | Country & Folk Singer Alan ref:4881.2 |

| Al has varied and dynamic musical background and has sung traditional songs from his native Tyneside to Irish, Scottish, English and American ballads. He started singing regularly in folks clubs in 1980 and his first radio broadcast was his award winning song 'The Children' just three years later. He has a deep warm voice with power and feeling then lends itself beautifully to country songs and folk ballads. He is well respected on the folk circuit and won many plaudits for his Johnny Cash tribute show as "John E Cash"
Al has founded, fronted and toured widely with several concert bands and he has collaborated with many award winning national and international musicians. He has performed to thousands on national radio and at festivals and in the most intimate of venues in every county in England and Scotland. |
| Folk week review | Al engaged his audience from the minute he stepped onto the stage [dressed in black of course] - here were many of Cash's best known songs, well played, sung as Cash himself would have sung them - no tricks, no "improvements", exactly what the audience had paid to see. | | | "Al 's deep, dark voice does full justice to Cash's powerfully lyric'd songs" |
