The JR Ceilidh Band / Barn Dance Band ref:4442  Send enquiry

The JR Band is best described as an English Style Ceilidh and Barn Dance Band. They mostly play for weddings, family celebrations and various types of fundraisers. However if you fancy a ceilidh at your rock festival or instead of your company Christmas Ball, they can do that too. The line up of Squeezebox, Guitar, Bass and Drums gives the band a good stompy feel with plenty of rhythm for the dancing. They also "call" the dances, which means they tell you the moves before you start and then remind you as the dance progresses. It's easy! The JR Band have an energetic and engaging style but are totally professional when it comes to making sure your event goes as well as possible.
The dances are collected from many sources and from across the ages. You may find yourself dancing The Horse's Brawl (from 1588), Strip the Willow or a dance written this year. The music is just as eclectic and will feature a mix of traditional and non-traditional tunes played in traditional and non-traditional ways. They draw from all sorts of sources from the Celtic tune mother load to Folk 'n' Roll, Trenchtown to Detroit, Dublin to New Orleans.
Wedding"Thanks so much for your spirited performance at our wedding do! All the guests were enthusing about the fabulous band and lots of the ceilidh virgins said they never realised how much fun it would be. I shall definately be recommending you to anyone who'll listen!!"
BirthdayI had great fun and would recommend you to anyone. Everyone thoroughly enjoyed themselves and were impresssed that I had found such a great band.
Fund raiser"Many, many thanks to all the band for making our ceilidh on the 18th March such a huge success. Everyone really enjoyed themselves! For an English band, I have to say that you play a mean Scottish reel! We raised far more than I ever expected."
