| The CY Duo, with its extensive repertoire of pop, folk, jazz and blues classics adds sophistication and style to any size event from small intimate house parties and country house/hotel gatherings to wedding receptions, marquees and corporate musical entertainment.
With her own vocal trademark young singer Deborah captures the spirit of a wide range of well known classics from 60’s singer songwriter Carol King’s ‘Its too late’ to Joni Mitchell’s 70’s hit ‘Big Yellow Taxi’ through to Eva Cassidy’s heartfelt ballads ‘Somewhere Over the Rainbow’ and ‘Fields of Gold.’
The instrumental half of the Duo, Charles, gives his analysis of their appeal: “With each song we choose to do the challenge is to bring something of yourself to bear on the interpretation of it. We don’t simply look to clone the original. We interact with the song and with each other. That is why our music is as much about performance as it is the choice of material. My role is to complement Debbie’s huge natural talent.”
