About  Stourbridge   

Stourbridge or Sturbrug as it was known owes its name to a bridge across the River Stour. The township was mentioned in the Domesday Book and was part of Suineforde, now known as Oldswinford. Until recent times the town was in Worcestershire but now forms part of the Metropolitan Borough of Dudley in the West Midlands.
