Towns, cities and regions, such as   Kent   have an influence on the style of music, whether it is the 'English Countryside' feel of Vaughan Williams, the strength of Elgar's Victorian Malvern, or the skirl of Northumbrian Pipe tune.

About  Kent    

Kent is approximately 63 miles long on its northern side and nearly 40 miles on its eastern side. It has four major rivers which are the Thames, Medway, Stour and Rother. Kent is an important agricultural area, producing wheat, barley, oats, beans, peas, asparagus, potatoes, turnips, hops and fruits of many kinds. Animal rearing in the region has included horses, cattle, sheep and pigs, plus poultry and game.

As the 'Garden of England' Kent has a strong ceilidh and barn dance tradition, but being on the route to mainland Europe, classical music and jazz are strongly represented, and the proximity to London ensures a good range of party bands
