Towns, cities and regions, such as   Grimsby  have an influence on the style of music, whether it is the 'English Countryside' feel of Vaughan Williams, the strength of Elgar's Victorian Malvern, or the skirl of Northumbrian Pipe tune.

About  Grimsby

GRIMSBY, in the north-east of the kingdom, was granted its royal charter and became a borough in AD 1201 under King John. Since the Iron Age, the area around Grimsby was a source of salt (by panning) which brought Roman settlement as far north as Caistor (12 miles south west of Grimsby). The ferry crossing of the Humber at Barrow (Ermine Street parallels an Iron Age foot-track to the same destination) was another attraction. Throughout the middle ages, Grimsby was nothing more than a remote outpost on the edge of a hostile sea.
