About Farnham
In the 17th century wheat from Sussex and Hampshire went by wagon to London and Farnham was well placed as a meeting place - a market - for the farmers and the merchants. By the middle of the 19th century the heyday of Farnham hops, however, had passed and the town entered into another phase of its history.
